I obtained a PhD in East-European Languages and Cultures from Ghent University in 2012 with a study on Yugoslav nation-building in the domain of education in interwar Yugoslavia. A thoroughly revised version of my dissertation was published by IB Tauris in 2015. After obtaining my PhD, I was active in civil society in Serbia and Kosovo. In Kosovo, I worked as Project Officer at the European Centre for Minority Issues Kosovo in a project aiming at facilitating access to public employment for graduates of the Serbian-language University of Mitrovica. In 2016, I joined the Humanitarian Law Center in Belgrade as Fundraising Manager. As of February 2017 I am working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for East and Southeast European Studies in Regensburg with support from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships programme.
