For the last couple of years, the IOS and researchers affiliated with the Institute have carried out and coordinated international research projects on the history and economic development of Central Asia. All projects included partners from the region. One of the tangible results of these projects is the creation of databases which provide open access to primary research data.
“Migration and Remittances in Central Asia: The Case of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan”
Coordinated by Dr Barbara Dietz and Prof. Jürgen Jerger
This project has generated panel survey data which are accessible on the IOS research data platform:
“Does Migration Affect Education of Girls in Tajikistan? Evidence from Panel Data” (sponsored by UNU-WIDER, 2016-2017)
Coordinated by Dr Ksenia Gatskova
