Another focus of the Institute is in providing infrastructure services for research. These are also an essential prerequisite for the successful transfer of newly acquired knowledge to the academic world, politics and the general public. Infrastructure services include the supervision and publication of academic journals, book series, working papers and standard works, as well as a specialized library (with more than 320,000 media items) and comprehensive electronic services (specialist databases and research portals). These services are highly research-based and greatly contribute to research into East Europe as a whole.
