Anna Ivashchenko holds a Master’s Degree (2018) in International Law with the specialization in International Protection of Human Rights and a Bachelor Degree (2016) in International Law with the specialization in Public International Law, both from the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine. She collected practical experiences as an intern at the Society for Threatened Peoples NGO (Berlin) and Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union (Kyiv). Since October 2018 she receives a BAYHOST scholarship of the Free State of Bavaria for studies in Regensburg. Anna Ivashchenko is enrolled at the joint Master program East European Studies of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and Universität Regensburg where she studies Law as a major subject and Political Science as a secondary subject. Her scientific interests include human rights protection, security policy in Western and Eastern Europe, EU-Ukraine relations, and development of the Council of Europe. She is fluent in Ukrainian, Russian, English, and German. Currently she learns also Polish at the university. Since April 2019 Anna Ivashchenko is a Student Assistant of the project group “Between Conflict and Cooperation: The Politics of International Law in the Post-Soviet Space”, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, at the IOS.
